While both vehicles have ample engine power to provide for a smooth ride with the capability SUV drivers are looking for, the 2019 Range Rover contains a more powerful engine than the 2019 Volvo XC90. The base model Range Rover comes standard with a 3.0-liter supercharged V-6 engine that outputs 340 horsepower and 332 pound-feet of torque. The Volvo comes standard with a T-5 2.0-liter turbo four-cylinder engine, that outputs 350 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. 

The additional power gives the Range Rover a slight edge over the Volvo when it comes to towing capability, allowing it to tow over 7,500 pounds versus the Volvo's 4,000 pounds. Off-road lovers will enjoy the extras 1.5 inches of clearance provided on the Range Rover, which will allow them to traverse rougher terrain without risk of damage.

When it comes to luxury and convenience, both brands rise to the occasion. Both vehicles sit up to five passengers, though the Range Rover has additional space to fit a full-size flat tire, which can be a lifesaver in time-sensitive situations.

Safety & Security
