With six different trim-level options, it's easy to find a 2018 Range Rover Sport that fits your needs. The standard engine is a supercharged 3.0-liter V-6 unit, producing 332 pound-feet of torque and 340 horsepower. A 3.0-liter turbocharged diesel-powered V-6 engine is available, which makes 443 pound-feet of torque and 254 horsepower. With the Supercharged trim comes a 5.0-liter V-8 unit, pumping out 461 pound-feet of torque and 518 horsepower.

The 2018 X5 has several engine options as well. These include a turbocharged V-6 engine that produces 300 pound-feet of torque and 300 horsepower, a diesel-powered V-6 unit rating at 413 pound-feet of torque and 255 horsepower, and a powerful V-8 engine that produces 480 pound-feet of torque and 445 horsepower. This model also has an available plug-in hybrid drivetrain that rates at 332 pound-feet of torque and 308 horsepower.

Luxury & Convenience

The Sport comes standard with a third row of seating, making it a good option for those with larger families. The X5 has seating for five, although a third row is optional and increases the capacity to seven. With the Sport, standard cabin features include leather upholstery, dual-zone climate control, navigation, an eight-speaker audio system with HD and satellite radio, and a 10.2-inch touch screen. You can also get high-end options like heated and ventilated seats, tri-zone climate control, a cooled box in the front console, a 23-speaker Meridian audio system, and a rear-seat entertainment system.

With the X5, interior features include vinyl upholstery, a nine-speaker audio system, dual-zone climate control, and split-folding rear seats. Upgrade to one of the higher trim levels for features like a 16-speaker audio system, ventilated seats, leather upholstery, and manual sunshades for the rear windows.

Safety & Security

Both models come equipped with anti-lock brakes, front and rear parking sensors, stability and traction control, and advanced air bags throughout the seating area. With the higher trim levels come features like blind spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, and a 360-degree parking camera.

Pricing

The X5 has a lower starting MSRP of $57,200, while the Sport starts at $66,750. The pricing difference does reflect the additional row of seating that comes standard in the Sport, as well as some of the high-end features that come standard.

Fuel Economy

The EPA-estimated fuel efficiency of the X5 is 18 mpg in the city and 25 mpg on the highway. The estimates for the Sport come in just slightly lower, at 17 mpg in the city and 23 mpg on the highway.

Test drive the 2018 Range Rover Sport at Hennessy Land Rover Gwinnett to experience these luxury and performance features. Between the eye-catching exterior styling and the power beneath the hood, this SUV is certainly a top contender in the segment.
